Wow that is definitely a lot of work. That is what I can passion for your pieces and a serious attention to detail. Lot of time consuming work to do that but the end result is incredible and a great addition to the animation over all ^.^

Of course it's bearable!
It's clever actually, like the turning page has a transparent window, or something. It was just odd when I watched it, kinda unexpected, and maybe not fitting with the rest of the movie.. Maybe that's why it stood out a bit.

It's actually "The Somewhat Queer yet SILLY Mr.Tophat".
_{It is about a man whose pride is so big - manifesting in the tallest tophat of all - that he loses everything without ever being or becoming aware of it.}

This is my graduation film from AKV|St.Joost (the Netherlands) in 2008. I did a BA in Animation and currently am doing a MA in Animation Direction at the National Film & Television School in the UK. I know I already linked to this film before, but now that I got a film account on DA I figured I might as well upload it fully :]

In the end this film became more a technical practice in animation/compositing than a good piece of storytelling. Because of the time limit I had to make the choice of finishing the piece instead of experimenting more like I originally wanted. Thanks to the help of some lovely (and greatly talented) bunch of people however, I managed to get a good end result I think :]

@04:16let me just say, this animation was really good! I mean, I loved the way you did it with the book, adding the animations in it. I also loved the over-voice, too. All in all, this has to be one of the most amazing animations I have seen on this site since I joined : )

@03:29Thank you! I want to stretch this concept much further. It reminds me a bit of the old winnie the pooh stories where the illustrations interact with the text too. Apparently Disney will do that in the new winnie the pooh movie!
